Dr. Gillespie received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska College of Dentistry.  He has also received a Mastership and Fellowship in the American Endodontic Society, Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry, belongs to the American Association of Functional Orthodontics and the Mid-America Orthodontic Society.

Giving back to his community is second-nature to Dr. Gillespie.  He has been an active member of the local Kiwanis Club for over 20 years and has served on the school board and theatre board and is currently on the Southwest Iowa Theatre Group board.  He is a member of the United Methodist Church and the Elks Lodge.

"I love driving down the tree-lined lane each day to my office with the Wilson Park as a beautiful backdrop," says Dr. Gillespie.  "There I get to meet with and serve the wonderful people of Southwest Iowa.  I've also enjoyed working with many wonderful and hardworking staff members over the years.  I love dentistry and feel privileged to be a dentist with the opportunity to practice in this area."

Michelle Cooper, a registered dental assistant, has worked 18 years with Dr. Gillespie.  She is also certified in expanded functions for dental assisting.

Michelle grew up in Villisca, graduated from Villisca High School and is still a big supporter of her hometown.  "I am proud to live in Iowa," she says.

She enjoys hanging out with her dog, Maggie Mae, as well as working in her yard and gardening.  She loves spending time with her nieces and nephews & attending their school functions.  If you take a ride in her truck, you'll be listening to country music....no exceptions.  She loves going shopping-especially antiquing!

"I really enjoy getting to know our patients," says Michelle.  "I have known many of them for years and have built a relationship with them.  I like being a part of the team at the Red Oak Dental Center..it's a great feeling to go to work every day and have fun!"

Karen Crouse is the office manager and has worked 5 years with Dr. Gillespie.  She is a native of the area as graduating from Stanton High School.  She and her husband Dan have three grown children.  SueAnn and twin sons, Michael and Nicholas.  SueAnn is blessed with the opportunity to teach Kindergarten for Inman Primary in Red Oak.  Michael is pursuing his paramedic degree at Iowa Western Community College and Nicholas attends school at Northwest Missouri State University to reach his physical education degree.  "Helping people is something that we feel strongly about in our family," says Karen.  With Dan a previous DARE Instructor, SueAnn and Nicholas both pursuing teaching and Michael an EMT and pursuing his paramedic we stay very active in people's lives.

When Karen is not working you will find her in her kitchen baking.  She loves to bake- especially during the holidays.  She also likes to spend time with family & friends, go to theatre productions, find bargains while shopping, watch movies, helping businesses with their accounting and traveling.

Karen is a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she and her family sing in the choir, volunteers at the Performing Arts and Education Association and is the captain of our Relay for Life Team.

"Having been a person with dental needs, I know exactly what patients are feeling when something is not right.  I love it when we treat the patients and the satisfaction the patients have when the work is completed.  It is great working with people that care so much about the patients and go the extra mile to make the experience at the dental office as enjoyable as possible."

Tami Trewet is a Registered Dental Hygienist.  She lives in Atlantic with her two children, Chance age 19 and Caroline age 16.  Tami received her Associates of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from Iowa Western Community College and was one of the two women to be the first to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from the Creighton University College of Dentistry.  She assisted in developing a mobile dental program in Cass County for residents in nursing homes (Miles of Smiles) and serves in an advisory capacity to the program.

Tami is active in her community and serves on the board of directors for the 309 Club, Inc. (a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering 12-step recovery in Cass County, Iowa) and an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.  When she's not working she enjoys rock climbing with her children, singing and traveling.

"I love the fact that I am building relationships with people that can last a lifetime," says Tami.  "I don't treat teeth...I treat people.  Everyone has a different life-experience which plays into their value system and beliefs and I welcome the challenge of educating people and assisting them in taking ownership of their health.  I also am blessed to be a part of a wonderful team of professionals...Everyone at the Red Oak Dental Center is dedicated to excellence and that is a rare thing these days."
